Mort is the fourth Discworld novel. I've only read it once before, and enjoyed it rather more this time. It's the first novel that features Death as a major player. He decides to take an apprentice. He chooses Mort, a young gangly lad who's keen enough, but not very co-ordinated. Mort gets along surprisingly well in his unusual job, and Death starts to discover the benefits of time off...

Typical Pratchett humour and surreal situations that mirror the 'real' world. Dramatic and slightly bizarre ending. Recommended.
