This truly is a classic, glad I finely read it. Great, suspenseful story about the French Revolution, and the psychology of the oppressed. Interesting sympathetic characters. It was sometimes hard to follow some of the more obscure references to events of the time, but not too difficult.

Given the state of world politics, e.g., what is going on in Egypt, it is a very timely read about what happens when revolutions against an oppressive regime occurs, and you get what you wished for.
