This book was nowhere near as good as Odd Thomas. It starts well enough, and proceeds to drag on and on and on. In the beginning, it seems as though Odd rescuing his friend is going to be a small plot point before getting on to a bigger and better supernatural 'case'. Not so.

Even though the majority of the book drags on and on and on, the ending is disjointed and rushed. It doesn't fit with the rest and is quite possibly the worst Koontz ending I've ever read. Unlike with his other books ( Watchers, Seize the Night), I was not left desperately wanting more books about these characters. Even Terrible Chester and Little Ozzie fell flat.

It's readable if you're a Koontz fan, but overall I suggest giving it a miss.
