really liked it
bookshelves: 2010-read

I think I would have enjoyed this more had I read the first three in this series, so I would definitely suggest reading the others! I enjoyed Nash's crisp writing style and clear POV with interesting secondary characters very much, and I'll look for others by her. I had a very hard time with the hero of this book, however, because he's beyond dark--he's downright cruel for 3/4 of the book without much redeeming at all. I think more of his backstory comes out in the first few books of this series, but even with the bad childhood backstory, he was very hard to stomach. He seems to just hate everything about being human, and it was hard to believe that heroine's love was going to be enough to turn him jovial and empathetic.
