it was ok
bookshelves: fantasy, ya-lit, paranormal-ya
Read from January 03 to 04, 2011 — I own a copy

To be precise: this book is a 4 star for execution, meaning it is fast paced, interesting, decently written.
It is a 1 star for originality though, being a total copy of Evernight in my opinion. Could it be any more obvious? While reading I had already started to think that I exactly pictured Hex Hall exactly like Evernight school, then thought well at least Sophie is a witch not a vampire like Bianca and Lucas... wait, no it's Archer and he is a bloody HUNTER too!! No way. I wanted to throw the book to the wall when I read that crap about L'Occhio di Dio - and I can start a whole new rant here about how I am so thoroughly pissed off about this blooming trend where author have picked ITALY as the new headquarters of all evil (thanks Stephenie Meyer).
So to be fair 2 stars, the average of my two ratings. More or less.

EeeJay LOL @ Italy! Exactly what I thought! I love Italy and its offensive to have the beautiful country treated this way (much like the prejudice against my own!)

Limonessa There are countless books now with Italy being headquarters of some secret sect :D
I think the latest was in Kelley Armstrong's The Gathering, where she managed to juxtapose a witchcraft sect (Italian) with some Native American lore O_O

KM I will agree with the Italy thing but I have to say her characters where much! more real than the other books you talk about and they actually had personality... So I give your review a one star

Limonessa I have to disagree with you KM but we're all entitled to our own opinions fortunately.

EeeJay I find the concept of rating the review here slightly funny for some reason - almost like rating the products off Amazon...when you haven't paid for the product...

Oh, well...
