Gladwell discusses the phenomenon of human "epidemics", and how small and subtle actions can have large effects. Although it's an interesting subject, I gave it 3 stars for two reasons: the first is that the idea behind the book can be explained sufficiently in a long article or a blog post, but not necessarily a whole book. The idea can be explained in a few pages, but Gladwell repeats and recycles the ideas in the book, and adds a lot of unnecessary examples and case studies to "prove" his point. This brings me to my second point, Gladwell throughout his books seem to present theories and concepts without actually proving them. I've said this before in 'Outliers' and I say it again here because he's repeating the same mistake. You can't "prove" a theory by just citing some examples that agree with your interpretation. Gladwell also fails to realize the fact that when two data sets are correlated, that doesn't mean that one "causes" the other. Correlation doesn't imply causation in one of the first things they teach you in statistics.
