I read about half of this and then left it for a few months, so I got through the rest this week, especially since it's borrowed.

I'm still not sure if I was the target audience for this because I've studied the brain and also looked into research studies of perfect pitch. The part where he was explaining the different elements of music bored the crap out of me and would bore almost any musician, I'd think. It didn't seem to come into play much throughout the rest of the book though.

I guess there were a few cool tidbits but at no point did I really feel excited about anything I was reading. There was no great revelation, nothing that made me understand myself better as a musician, or a listener, so in that sense I was a little disappointed.
