I'm less of an August Wilson fan than I would wish. This play has its moments, the strongest is a scene between the protagonist, Troy Maxson, and his wife Rose. It takes place early in Act 2. I found the ending to be weak. Gem of the Ocean has a similarly ritualistic passage in it that doesn't resonate with me either.
