A delightful short book examining a older couple who live with their adult, frankly ugly, and therefore unmarriagable daughter in a provincial hungarian town. The elderly couple, who normally live thru extreme frugality cut loose when their daughter leaves town to visit relatives. A well rendered view of provincial hungarian life in the 1920's.
