really liked it
bookshelves: audio, mystery
Recommended for: Elizabeth for commuting
Read from November 20 to 30, 2010

A mystery in a different setting, Botswana, with local (not European) characters. Mma Ramotswe is a lady with plenty of spunk, resourcefulness, humor, and a big heart. This was a great audio book. The African accents add a lot. I started it on a several hour weekend trip, finished it the following week whenever I was in the car, and several times sat in the driveway to hear just a bit more.

There is also a BBC TV series, 2 seasons apparently. I got the first season from the library. There are some significant changes from the book but the spirit is the same: scenes of Botswana, funny, sweet.
