really liked it

Loved this. Although it wasn't quite five star material in my opinion, it only marginally missed it. I think Jenny Downham's technique is very good - the the book is written with an appropriate teenage view on terminal leukaemia in first person narrative, told my the protagonist, who is a 16 year old girl named Tessa. I really was depressed at the end of the book - it amazed me how such strong emotions could be portrayed through words alone. Definitely not a book for the faint hearted.
