Another book to add to my favorites. :)

There's a good reason that Lynette Eason made it onto my favorite authors list so quickly. She's a wonderfully talented suspense author who makes me want to read her books all the way through in one sitting! Unfortunately, there's this little thing called life that keeps me from doing that. :P

This book is just great! I went into it with high expectations (based on the author's other books that I have read and loved) and I was not disappointed. I loved the characters, the dialogue, the storyline, the suspense, the writing style... Really, I just loved the book! :)

I always enjoy trying to solve the mystery before the "big reveal" and I was able to figure out some of it (mostly by crossing off suspects, which the author seemed to have in abundance), though I wasn't sure at all until the end. While I do love figuring out the mystery, I also really love it when an author can successfully keep me guessing and surprise me in the end. And some parts of this story really totally surprised me! And the suspense was great too-- keeping me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next!

There is an element of romance, but I actually really liked that it wasn't the focus of the story. It's there and it can't be ignored (I even thought it was a bit much at first), but as the story progressed I enjoyed that part too.

I could go on and on.....

There's a preview of book 2 in the back of this one, but there's no way I'm reading that!! I don't even want to know who or what the 2nd book is about. The surprise and suspense of Lynette's stories are just way too much fun for me to chance spoiling any of it! :)

Oh, and I kinda hope that Charlie makes it into one of the later books. Don't know why, but I just instantly liked him. ;)
