really liked it
Read from January 23 to 25, 2011

There were some slow points as the incubus and the human got to know each other, but McBride's world fascinated me and I stuck out those lulls for the rewards. The dark moments were very dark and emotionally charged; at one point I was chewing my lip debating on walking away from the book -- not because I wasn't enjoying the story, but because I felt the torn, raw pain with the characters.

Just like with Lone, I enjoyed McBride's world creation -- this one with wizards, incubi, and dreamwalkers -- and never with big info dumps, instead slowly unfurling the magical setting as the story itself develops.
