3.5 stars
This is a good, solid book. But, sadly, a disappointing ending to the series. I really enjoyed the beginning of this book. Carrie Ryan's writing style is very unique. The middle of this book is okay , and the ending was just no more than good. The pacing of this book was really slow, and so much happened in the plot, but alot of the things that happened were pointless or boring. There were a few nice parts in this book that I really enjoyed. Specifically, I really liked how Carrie Ryan described the zombies, and what the Dark City looked like before the Return. The characters were pretty good, and the storyline was complex, yet quite boring at times. Overall , I recommend highly the second book, The Dead-Tosses Waves, the most. It got a 4.5. But, still this is a pretty good book. I just think it could have been executed better.
Story: 7/10
