really liked it

Well, Pam Grier is one cool woman. Her autobiography sounds like she wrote it, not like Hollywood pablum. Her upbringing and her experiences are very interesting. Now I saw Fort Apache the Bronx, and was completely grossed out by her prostitute/coked out freak/murderer character at the time. When you hear her describe how she came up with that character, you have to admire her. It might not be Shakespeare (oh, if you saw that dog of a movie, you know it WASn't Shakespeare) but she took it on with integrity and skill. It was an ugly role, but her understanding of a person driven so low, was true. I would love to meet her some day, and I recommend this a summer read.
