Skippy is Daniel "Skippy" Juster, so nicknamed because of his unfortunate resemblance to a certain TV kangaroo. He's a "boarder" at Seabrook College, an expensive Catholic school in Dublin and is only one of many great characters in this twisting and turning tale. There is his best friend who is trying to figure out how to travel through time, his history teacher who's life has become pretty routine and has the hots for the sub geology teacher, the drug dealing bullies, of course the do-gooder priests. The story switches as each chapter may focus on a different character's perspective to give a larger fuller picture. This is one of my favorite novel forms and makes it feel like a short story even though this book is more than 600 pages.

This was a great piece of fiction if not disturbingly real about the mindset of present-day teenage boys. A fast read over all and a fun one too!
