Ian "Marvin" Grayejoy Suna said:From a linguistic, aestethic and imaginative point of view these are not just books.
They're art.

I get the same sensation from these reviews.

Suna Thank you, Ian.

Tersa, I have a message saying you commented here, but I can't see it?

Cecily Art, indeed, and of course, Peake was an excellent artist. It shows in his descriptions, but his drawings are worth seeking out as well. You could try this Mervyn Peake: The Man and His Art.

Suna Oh, that does sound good. Consider it marked!
I noticed you were reading it at the moment, I look forward to your thoughts...

Cecily I'm dipping in and out and will write a review in a week or two.

Cecily I have finished and reviewed Mervyn Peake: The Man and His Art (http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...). It was excellent, partly because apart from being lavishly illustrated with his works, the thoughtful (but not obscure) analysis linked his art with his written works.
