I didn't know what to expect when I received this book. I hadn't saw many reviews, but I thought the summary sounded promising.

Kristi Cook is a wonderful writer and she had me interested from the start. She beautifully created Winterhaven and the story within it. It is set at a wonderful pace and I could not put it down. There were even a few surprises that caught me off guard.

Violet was your average girl who happens to have a 'gift'. I liked her because she was smart, but not perfect. The other characters were pretty good too, all of them served a purpose.

I like paranormal books, but I feel like many paranormal books are becoming very similar. Kristi Cook created her own world though and I definitely enjoyed it. Haven is different from many paranormal books and I was very pleased with it.

Overall this was a good book and I am excited to see what happens in the next book.
