A great book, but it takes patience. Much in the old saying of you never forget how to ride a bike, that is true of Cornwell not forgetting how to write in Scarpetta's voice. It will however take the rest of us time to catch up to that voice we have not heard in over a decade. The book and plot line are well thought out and written. But much like I had to first adjust to Cornwell's style of writing when she first switched from Scarpetta in first person to third person with other will take some time to adjust back to this style. There are advantages and disadvantages, but overall it was a good book. If you're reading it for's a good weekend read. If you're an avid Scarpetta fan, expect to re-read parts over and over looking for tidbits Cornwell has weaved into the story.
