I must confess that this book was too erudite for me. I tried, I really did, and I don't doubt that it is a beautifully written book, but after 80 pages and doing everything in my power to avoid picking it up, I knew it was time to throw in the towel on this one. I'm sure if I had persevered, I would have appreciated the book, but it just read like one continuous sermon to me.

Kathy You will have to let me know what you think. I rarely put a book down, but I just couldn't get into this one to finish it.

Jennifer Ohhhhhhh, no! I usually like your book picks and agree with your reviews and ratings on ones that we have both read, so I have a feeling I will share your sentiments on this one, too. It got chosen for a new book club I'm in--I'll keep you posted!

BTW, I saw that you're currently reading Cutting for Stone--ahhhh, happy reading! Loved it--some of the best fiction I've read recently!
