it was amazing
bookshelves: humor, kids-picture-books
Read in January, 2011

The first time I read this book (out loud--it's important to read it out loud, so you get the full effect of the purposeful language), I laughed so hard I cried. About 5 different times. And the illustrations are a terrific complement to the story. I don't think your average classroom full of kids would think it's that funny--again, I think it's the language that makes it so hilarious--but I loved it.

TEST RESULTS = Inconclusive. Which means, I gave this book to my older sister (middle school librarian) and she thought it was hilarious. I gave it to my mother to read out loud to my second sister (elementary library aide) and neither one of them laughed. WHAT?!?

I told Mom she must have read it wrong. :)

Also, what a great example of persuasive writing!

Sandra OK. I am going to have to find this one and read it aloud to my two youngest grandkids and see what happens..
