it was amazing

One has to admire the pluck of a man who at an advanced age casts his fate to the wind and the waves of the world in a small sailboat. What struck me the most in his accounts are of how extraordinary a sight he presented, being the first in a small yacht to appear in many of the places he visits, compared to our present day where, as national parks are overrun with RV's and occupants that seldom emerge from their a/c cocoons, the far-flung places are hard-pressed to be found without a yacht swinging to anchor or tied to a dock. What wonderful innocence he found that must have been worn away through the years...
