Truth is it took me over a year to finish this book. Not because it's boring, but because of various other happenings in my life. I wanted to read this book mostly because I'm an anthropologist. I know it's old book, so it's very different but still I wanted to see and read vision of the author. I really liked this book and found it fascinating in the most part. Some parts were purely surprising. What I didn't like is the patronizing tone of Frazer who calls people in his book either peasants or savages. It's simply lack of respect. This is also perfect example of armchair anthropology. Author is a master of theory, but his work is based on someone else's experience. He's also talking about mythology bit too much. Still I liked this book and would recommend it to anyone interested in culture, religion and bit of adventure.
