really liked it
bookshelves: ya-books, fantasy

I have not had time to re-read this as I wanted. But I do know that the writing was a bit choppy at first, but got more fluid as the story progressed. I saw a plot flaw early on and found it answered later. There is a nice lack of triple adjectives, of constant referrals to perfect beauty, a hero that isn't a creepy stalker and a heroine who DOESN'T fixate on the hero with her sole goal to become just like him.
In other words, this isn't "Twilight". And I really enjoyed it, though I wish sequels were NOT planned because the ending is excellent just as it is.
