really liked it

This is yet another set of connected stories (getting a bit tired of these), but the writing is lovely. It starts off with an unnamed narrator talking to "your honor," describing how she came to acquire and then lose her desk. The reader has to figure out who the narrator(s) is, who "your honor" is, and why the desk is significant. The stories all focus on loss and memory and permanence, and some are exquisite. This feels like a great book to read and discuss with someone else -- I still have questions about it days after finishing.
