Having heard rave reviews about what an enthralling, quick, and easy read the book was, I thought I would really enjoy it when my book club selected it as our March book.

I have to say, for a type of book I am not likely to pick up and read, I really did like it a lot more than I thought I would, but I didn't totally love it. There are 3 more books in this series and I returned them all to their owners unread. It didn't really figure into my brain that my life would be incomplete without reading them. So I figured I'd concentrate elsewhere.

Still, the story of Tally, a girl forced to choose between two unimaginable futures (selling out her friends versus fitting in at home forever), was a good quick read. If you liked Lois Lowry's The Giver, you will probably at the very least enjoy Uglies.
