hmmm.... interesting..... very interesting. Im usual a fantasy reader but i gave this book a go after hearing that it was pretty good. This is quite a dark and serious book, not for light hearted people as the main protagonist Grace is depressed; shes not friends with her long time bff Sal anymore and she isnt going out with her 'perfect' boyfriend anymore Nat and her father is dead and her mother doesn't give a shit about her. So her life is pretty fucked up; something that makes her feel better is physical pain, physical pain to help her not feel her emotional pain and to stop her from thinking about what shes upsetting her - but her way is extreme - she self mutilates herself by cutting herself. It starts off on her wrists, but then it progresses to her legs. She cuts herself so much that her legs look like a train wreck happened. This story is actually very depressing and though the twist as the end you could see happening from a mile away.

Lets just start off with that Sal was a bitch; a selfish bitch and didnt deserve a friend like Grace. Secondly Nat was an arse and again Grace deserved better. Lastly, her father was selfish as he abanoned her by killing himself via a train. So Grace is kidnapped by a Guy named Ethan and while she is locked up she writes down her past and thats how we learnt about her life.

(view spoiler)

Eghhh how i felt after reading this, i mean it was a good book. But you felt so sad for Grace and also very pissed off at Nat and Sal. But good book despite the ending, I'll read the next novel by Cat Clarke :)
