I don't know; I guess I just like books (or plays) that have a plot and make some kind of sense to me. Maybe I'm just not intelligent enough to get or appreciate this one. I never like existentialist works (hated The Stranger by Camus) and there's a reason why it's called absurdist. I mean, I understand the basic point that Beckett is trying to communicate, I just didn't enjoy the ride. Maybe it would be funnier seen on stage - I can see how it would be sort of slapstick comical, but for me the humor just didn't translate well to the written page.
