Jeff Smith is far better at pure fantasy (BONE) than this admixture called "Jeff Smith's SHAZAM!" I have no problem with the art (unlike my bro), but things like a scientist being the US Attorney General (huh?) making decisions only the US President can make (how's that again?) are not just silly light-hearted fantasy (like the Mayor of Boneville), but just plain stupid. It would not bother me half so much if Smith were not trying to make a play for some sort of semi-serious satirical commentary. I like the core re-invention of the characters (except where is Captain Marvel, Jr.!?). This light-hearted read shows that there may be a small chance of life after Boneville for Jeff Smith. I would rather see a mini-series called "Stupid Stupid Rat Creatures."
