A very heart-warming kind of take on the Beauty and The Beast tale. I love to see the underdog come out on top and that is what happens here. So often in this world it seems that that the pretty people get what they want and are successful and it's just nice to read a story where someone with the kind of problems that Naef had to deal with was loved so deeply and completely by Aerie-Smith. I loved reading about the island and it's inhabitants and how Naef (a/k/a Knife) connected with them. All of the other characters in the story add a richness to the story as well. It's a truly magical story. Amy Lane did a masterful job at developing all of the characters and building the world on the island. This was truly a joy to read and one that I will certainly be re-reading.
