This is probably one of my least favorite of Augusten's memoirs. Containing several of his memoir short stories having to do with Christmas, You Better Not Cry starts off strong with holiday tales from Augusten's childhood. But his prose lost much of their punch in the later stories in his adult years.

This is the first book that I recall Augusten mentioning a past boyfriend named George (who I believe he refers to, namelessly, in Magical Thinking: True Stories as his first true love.) The stories about George, in You Better Not Cry, I think reveal a lot about why Augusten (view spoiler)
