4.5 stars

I often see Julia Quinn's books in general mentioned in less than favourable terms, so I profess myself surprised by how much I adored this book. I thoroughly enjoyed reading each and every page, and found myself actually laughing out loud a time or two - and that almost never happens. It really was delightful.

Thankfully, unlike The Duke And I, this one had no major missteps to ruin the story. I loved the mix of humour and deep emotion. I know a lot of readers had trouble with Anthony in the beginning, but I didn't feel that way at all. And when he climbed under the table with Kate, I was a goner. I loved these two together.

I'm so glad I decided to give Julia Quinn a go.

Crista Glad you liked this one Quinn! This series deserves a re-read. My fav. Of the series is "When He Was Wicked", but this one is a close second:)

Quinn I'm excited to hear that I've still got your favourite to come, Crista!
