I avoided reading this book FOREVER because I don't love short stories and, well, everyone loved it so much I was sure it could never live up to the hype. But it's extremely well written. One of the stories even pushed me to confront one of the more difficult relationships in my life and try to learn to empathize there. That said, I still am not a huge fan of short stories (I need novellas at least to justify my emotional investment in a character) and I don't think I'll be re-reading this book.
