I happened upon Personal Demons searching for Kane's backlist after I fell into happy with her Downside Ghosts series. This is the first of three books featuring Megan Chase, a psychologist whose new radio show promises to help 'slay your demons'. Little does Chase know she's hit too close to home and the strange events start from there.
I liked that Chase was a heroine I could identify with (for the most part). She's spunky and strong, but not infallible, and she has a sense of humor, but doesn't feel the need to moonlight on the weekends at the comedy club. Greyson was a little too Rico Suave for my tastes, but he grew on me, and Tera could have used a bit of more-ness, but I think we'll be hearing more from her soon. The plot kept things going at a nice clip, although it took Megan too long to start standing up for some answers and a couple of unnecessary obvious detours for dramatic effect were some areas for improvement.
Other than that, this was a light, fun PNR read.
