I went into this thinking I knew the basics of the Pat Tillman story and was completely blindsided. Krakauer tells a riveting tale that brings Tillman to life and makes you wish you had known him. It also ripped off the scab that had grown over my complete mistrust and disgust for Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and the rest of that merry band and brought all the horror of their lies and misdeeds festering to the surface. This story is one that needed to be told, but it's one that makes you very, very sad that it had to happen.
