I really enjoyed this anthology. There are characters to fall in love with and characters that fascinate. Plots that surprise and plots that satisfy. And of course there are plenty of interesting applications of steam punky themes. This collection has enough variety, while still staying within the steam punk realm, to fit a variety of readers. I would definitely recommend it to my friends, whether they are hard core steam punk fans or just enjoy a good collection of fantastic stories.

There might be some readers who trip over some of the stories more than others. If that happens to you, keep reading or at least skip onto the next one; it is well worth the effort.

My favorites did a very good job of satisfying my cravings for immersion, novelty and lots of thought put into the world building and characters. With one or two stories, I remember loving the characters or the ideas so much that I was severely disappointed there weren't more chapters.

On the opposite scale, there were one or two stories that were a little hard for me to get through, where the steam punk elements didn't quite seem to fit or where the character seemed forced or their viewpoint distracting. But I was impressed that there were still elements in even these stories that I did enjoy.

Well done to all the authors gathered into this collection, and to the editor for hunting down these tales. There is a lot of talent here, all around. Definitely a good read.
