It's nice having my own views of parenting confirmed. And it's not like the author's a slacker when it comes to actually raising her children: she's just a slacker in comparison to the helicopter parent, who is, frankly, the last thing on the planet I would like to be. I greatly enjoyed Ms Mead-Ferro's take on sensible parenting, mostly because, admittedly, it affirmed my own view of what good parenting is like: abhorring indulgence, and believing in discipline and old-fashioned resilience and creativity.
