Well, I got what I was looking for. Eleanor of Aquitaine is a fascinating person. She was queen of both France and England, and a rather powerful woman for those times. Alison Weir knows her material, and writing fiction allowed the historian in her to spice up the story a little bit by adding emotion, motivation, and sex. Lots and lots of sex. As a work of literature, there was nothing stunning about it, but I enjoyed reading it and learned a little more about this remarkable woman.
