The premise of this book is the author researches what would happen to the world if humanity suddenly disappeared. How would plants, animals and the rest of the Earth recover/adapt/thrive/suffer in our absence? In a way I found this depressing premise hopeful. Whatever happens to us, the Earth and the universe goes on.
