Ms. Stegman has succeeded in combining history and romance in a well-written story that is sure to grab the interest of all fans of the genre. The action and plot is non-stop and gripping, keeping you turning the pages to see what happens next. Alejandro de Silva is my kind of hunky, adorable hero with a sense of decency and morality and Mariette is my kind of heroine who is strong and loyal and willing to sacrifice herself for those she loves. All in all, a very enjoyable read.
