We have a winner!

I absolutely adored this novel. It's the story of how the Amazing Arden, an entertainer and illusionist, came to glory - and the danger that follows her.

It takes place in the early 20th century when one-horse towns really were just that: one-horse towns. From a poor southern town to the Vanderbilt estate to the bustling metropolis of NYC, a smart but naive girl comes into her own. And there just might be a bit of real magic in play.

But it begins with murder...
