I love historical fiction, and this was really good. However, the most interesting thing about this book was the way it was presented. It's called an autobiography, but it's fiction. There's even a preface to the story about how the author went about collecting information on this fictional woman. For some reason, I think that's brilliant. The story itself was pretty interesting as well. Miss Jane is full of knowledge about history and people in general. The dialect can be difficult to read at times, but you can generally get the gist of what she's trying to say.
