The Tiger: A True Story of Vengeance and Survival
I was expecting an engrossing non-fiction book about a rogue tiger killing villagers and the hunt to kill it. When the book talked about the two victims, the possible interaction moments before their ultimate death, and the aftermath of such a horrifying and violent death, it was engrossing. However, most of the book is about the history of Russia, China, the topography, two anti-nazi scientists hiding and surviving in the African bush (not sure why this was included). So, out of the 305 pages, the book had about 50 pages of the actual kills and the hunt of the tiger. I agree with another reviewer that this would have made an interesting magazine piece. There wasn't enough for an actual book, hence, the 250 page history lesson or filler.
