The book's descriptive blurb is surprisingly decent as an abstract of the story, so I won't expand on that. Keyes' portrayal of alchemy was interesting, and the world in which lines between science, magic, and mysticism are somewhat blurry, was so much fun to discover as the story progressed that I don't want to ruin any of that for you.
