A Holocaust novel about life about being released from a Nazi concentration camp, it would accompany some other books that address life before and during the war.
The story follows th journey of 15-year old Ruth Mendenberg, the sole member (?) member of her family to survive Auschwitz. Upon returning to her former home in Poland, she realizes that she has nothing there, so she sets off on a journey for the new Jewish homeland of Israel. Like all other journeys, this one has challenges along the way. The question remains...will she make it?
