Mary-Beth's Reviews > Vinegar Hill
This tells the story of a woman who feels trapped in a loveless marriage. It's an interesting read, because it takes on the perspective of even the more hateful characters in the story. Somehow, even seeing things from their perspective didn't make me feel very sorry for them though. It's a pretty depressing tale, altogether, about a husband who feels alienated from his children, his wife, and everyone, because both of his parents are abusive. Yet, when he loses his job he reverts to a childlike dependency on them, bringing his wife and children along.
