really liked it
bookshelves: mystery

This is really more of a 3.5 star book. Not a 3, but not quite a 4. It was quite a decent mystery story, and engrossingly written, but every once in a while something would just jar me out of it. For instance, what kind of FBI agent fires shots into the AIR? (At least 3 times, on 2 occasions, by my count.) That kind of thing not only gets people killed, it involves a whole heckofa lot of paperwork. So, it's a small nitpick, but kind of symptomatic of the... sloppiness inherent in the writing, not throughout, but sprinkled here and there. Not sure what would have fixed that other than a little more diligence in realistic actions and motivations, but in the end it was a decent mystery story, and hey, a new mystery is always interesting, to me.
