really liked it

I enjoyed this gentle-paced story of mountain life in the 1800's in a gold mining town in Colorado. It brings together an old woman and a young woman, and delves into their unlikely but satisfying friendship, and the tragedies in their own lives they are able to flesh out with the support of their friendship. I enjoyed the little details that were obviously well-researched to create a more meaningful portrayal of life in the Rockies during the mining years.

I loved the faith and trust in God portrayed throughout the main character's life and the culmination of the story was extremely satisfying for me. A lovely read.
