really liked it
bookshelves: young-adult

It didn't quite make the 5 star list for me, but I really liked the story. It was interesting and different to read from the perspective of a blind person. You never realize how hard things are for someone like Cheyenne. And on top of being blind she's kidnapped and has pneumonia. That would be extremely hard for a sighted person and I found myself really feeling for her. Even knowing she was blind, I kept picturing things like she wasn't and I had to stop and think, how can she even do that, she can't see!
I really appreciate books like this because it makes me conscious of how I would behave, were I to meet a blind person. I think most people forget that there's nothing else wrong with them, they can speak and do things for themselves like anyone else, they're actually better at it because they're in the dark.
Very well written, realistic plot. I would definitely read another book by April Henry.
