More great space opera/military sf from Huff. And a nice look at soldiers who are at loose ends now that the war that filled their lives is over. How do you cope? Adjust your priorities? and so on.
I quite enjoy this series and like the end of this one, which hints of more to come. But if Huff pulls the plug on it--well, it ends on a really good note.
This book can stand on its own--it is a self-contained story. But the fun comes from encountering old friends (including our favorite syntax mangling furry news person). And, of course, there is a great deal of story now (this is book 5) and you cannot easily cover all of that in snibbets of backstory.
